Mizonokuchi Brewery Announces Session Hazy IPA "Dawn[04:59]" for Its 4th Anniversary Project
Mizonokuchi Brewery, a microbrewery in Mizonokuchi, Kanagawa, has unveiled "Dawn[04:59] - Session Hazy IPA - 3-bottle set" as a new release for its 4th anniversary. By combining a yeast and hops it had never used before, the beer aims for a sweet, fruity drinking experience even at 3.0% ABV.
Mizonokuchi Brewery, based in Mizonokuchi, Kanagawa and launched in the spring of 2022, has announced its new "Dawn[04:59] - Session Hazy IPA - 3-bottle set" as part of its 4th anniversary efforts. Born after training at breweries in Tokyo, the brewery has aimed to build a community rooted in the local area while making beer that makes the act of drinking itself more enjoyable.
This new release clearly reflects that stance. For its 4th anniversary, the brewery deliberately chose a yeast and hops it had never used before. The style is Session Hazy IPA, and the ABV is 3.0%. While the IBU has not been disclosed, the recipe was designed with a light, easy-drinking character and versatility for any occasion in mind.
The hops used are ADHA218, Vista, Strata-CGX, and Citara-CRYO. While keeping the lightness typical of a session beer, the brewery says it aimed not to let it end as just another light drink, but to leave a sweet, fruity finish. The description also says it is "not lacking despite being 3%," suggesting that the goal was to preserve a satisfying balance even at low alcohol.
Mizonokuchi Brewery has continued to explore new flavors through flagship brands such as "Nokchi Beers," with IPA and hazy styles at the core of its lineup. Dawn[04:59] can also be seen as an experimental release that extends that trajectory. Along with a name that evokes the quiet time before sunrise, fans will likely be curious about how they shaped a hazy beer that feels light and approachable.
The artwork was handled by Takeshi Wada. The release is structured to give it a strong presence as a work of art, not just in flavor but also in visual presentation. As a new challenge coming out of Mizonokuchi, it is a fitting beer for the milestone of the brewery's 4th anniversary.
