Teenage Brewing and SHOHEI Collaborate to Announce Limited "ZEN IS PUNK" IPA
Saitama craft brewery Teenage Brewing announced a collaboration project with fashion brand SHOHEI, "ZEN IS PUNK," in an Instagram post on February 24 at 20:09. The brewery said it will release the limited beer "SHOHEI Zen IPA // Persimmon DIPA" at an event at Shibuya PARCO on March 20.
The announcement Teenage Brewing shared on Instagram this time is a collaboration centered on COLLECTION × BEER and MUSIC. The project is titled "SHOHEI × Teenage Brewing ‘ZEN IS PUNK.’"
According to the post, the venue will be "Tachinomi Beer Boy" at Shibuya PARCO. The event will be held on Friday, March 20 (national holiday), from 16:00 to 22:30, and will include an EXHIBITION, TALK SHOW, and DJ SET, along with the release of the collaboration beer. It also notes that the pop-up shop itself will be held at MANA SPACE in Ebisu.
The beer for this project is "SHOHEI Zen IPA // Persimmon DIPA." It is positioned as a limited edition that translates the brand's theme of "ZEN IS PUNK" into liquid form. Designing a beer to match a fashion collection launch goes beyond a simple novelty item; it is an approach that presents the flavor itself as a collaborative "work."
Teenage Brewing is a brewery based in Tokigawa, Saitama Prefecture. On its official website, it presents a brewing philosophy rooted in the sensibilities of its musicianship, focusing on original beers centered on IPA, sour ale, and sour IPA. Its connection to music, art, and culture is highly compatible with the brewery's own identity, and this SHOHEI collaboration fits naturally within that context.
For beer fans, the highlights are not only the limited release itself, but also the experience designed to integrate exhibition, talk, and DJ events. It looks set to be a day where you can enjoy a collaboration beer not just by drinking it, but by tasting the culture it intersects with as well.
