On April 23, the beer pub "Beer Pub Nekotoazarashi" in Mitaka newly tapped the German Plank Brewery's "Pilsar," timed to coincide with the day the Beer Purity Law was enacted. It is a beer with the backbone typical of a German Pilsner, and its defining feature is the balance of aroma and bitterness from generous use of Tettnang hops.
The shop is a small beer pub centered around counter seating, with 10 taps. This lineup was built around the new German tap, while also offering a wide range of styles from fruit beers to IPA, Weizen, and Alt. It is an easy setup whether you want to drink slowly by yourself or compare your preferences with a few friends.
