New dishes

Yokohama Bay Brewing Yokohama Front, the brewery pub on the second floor of THE YOKOHAMA FRONT near Yokohama Station, announced a menu update in its July 8 Instagram post. The headline item is sardines simmered in a soy-sauce-based sauce flavored with sansho pepper, finished with an extra sprinkle of sansho on top. It is a straightforward seasonal dish built for beer pairing.

The post also says BBQ pork, a guest favorite from the venue's anniversary celebration, is being prepped for a comeback. In addition, the shop is gearing up for a new canned-beer release event scheduled for the coming weekend, so both food and beer appear to be changing at the same time.

Beers on tap

The day's tap list spans house beers and guest pours. Yokohama Bay Brewing beers include Bay Pilsner, Bay Pilsner Hallertau Edition, Freestyle, Bay Dark, Bay Weiss, Yuzu Weiss, Weekend Journey, Sprint IPA, Flatland, Freedom, Sara, Steel Soul Fixie, and Bay Pilsner on ball tap. Guest beers include Pilsner Urquell, Jam Session 2 from Craftrock Brewing, Smooth Dark Lager from CHORYO Craft Beer, Pilsner Northern Style from Craft Beer Base, 酒落 from Kyoto Brewing, Drink All Day from Craftrock Brewing, Second Breath from Black Tide Brewing, and Super Sonic Speed Sour from Yokohama Beer.

About the venue

As a direct-operated beer pub, the restaurant mixes its own beers with guest labels and pairs them with a food menu that goes beyond bar snacks. Sashimi, roast beef, and steak are all part of the lineup, making it easy to move from the sansho sardines to richer meat dishes. The result is a place that works for a quick pint, lunch drinking, or a proper meal around the beer list.
