New seasonal release
Minoh Beer is launching 'Grefuru Sour,' a seasonal sour ale centered on grapefruit. The brewery describes it as a beer with vivid citrus character, supported by Cascade, Citra, and Nelson Sauvin hops, and finished with a clean, refreshing drinkability.
The beer is built on a light body and a crisp malt profile, with acidity kept sharp but balanced. It is classified as happoshu, or low-malt beer under Japanese labeling rules, and uses malt, grapefruit, hops, and lactic acid. The beer comes in at 4.5% ABV and 22 IBU, with a pale color, best served at 6-8°C and left unfiltered.
Availability is staggered. Restaurants and liquor retailers will begin carrying it from around June 5, while the official online shop will start sales at 5:00 p.m. on June 12. It will be offered in 330 ml bottles and on draft, giving drinkers a choice between retail, on-premise, and online channels.
Based in Minoh, Osaka, Minoh Beer has built its identity on classic beer styles alongside seasonal releases that often use local fruit and yuzu. The brewery also highlights its record of gold medals in international competitions. 'Grefuru Sour' fits that approach: a seasonal beer that reflects both technical brewing and a clear sense of place.
