Sankt Gallen, the original craft beer shop in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, sold a "parakeet-flavored beer" as an April 1-only April Fools' product. Sankt Gallen has been a brewery that has made joke-like beers in earnest for April Fools' Day every year since 2010 and sold them for only 24 hours, continuing to pursue playful ideas.

This year's "parakeet-flavored beer" is presented as a sparkling alcoholic beverage that recreates a sweet, fragrant "parakeet smell" using millet, kibi, hie, takakibi, oats, and kinako, which are known as staple foods for parakeets. According to the official shop product page, the ingredients are malt, hops, oats, kibi, takakibi, millet, hie, kinako (soybeans), lactose, and kinako flavoring. It has an alcohol content of 5.5%, a volume of 330 ml, and a best-before date of June 30, 2026.

The same product page says the online sales allocation has sold out, and also provides links to shops where it can be enjoyed on draft, as well as the brewery's directly operated taproom north of Hon-Atsugi Station. Sankt Gallen is also known as a maker that actively releases distinctive products such as seasonal beers, isshobin bottle beers, and chocolate beer.
