The Beer That Was Re-tapped

At the craft beer specialty shop WORLD BEER&DINING MIHAMA BASE (Mihama Base) in Inage Kaigan, Ise Kadoya Beer’s "Imperial Red Ale" was tapped once again. It was a popular label that reportedly sold out in just one day the last time, and this time the keg was hooked up anew.

This beer is designed by blending old- and new-school American hops, balancing the nostalgia reminiscent of 2000s IPAs with modern drinkability. Its copper-red color, aromas evoking citrus and grapes, substantial body, and a crisp, tightening bitterness come together to create a clearly defined flavor profile true to a Double Red Ale.

Today’s Draft Lineup

There were nine draft beers on tap that day. In addition to the staple `GUINNESS`, `KIRIN HEARTLAND`, and `Hoegaarden White`, the lineup included `Revision Glitter Moon`, `Karl Strauss Tower X`, `Paperback Tucked in by Strangers`, `West Coast Brewing Special Delivery:Ra mosa`, and `FARMENTRY No.3 YAYOI IPA #2`. From stout, pilsner, and white ale to NE Hazy Double IPA, West Coast IPA, Hazy Double IPA, and Juicy IPA, it was a lineup wide enough to make comparative tasting fun.

How Easy the Place Is to Use

Mihama Base is a craft beer specialty shop that also handles takeaway bottles and cans. Hours are 17:00 to 25:00, and although it is normally closed on Tuesdays, it was open that day, making it an easy stop whether for a pre-party, second stop, or third stop. It is one place beer lovers will want to remember, as it also suits a light drink during the welcome-and-farewell party season.
