Sankt Gallen Brewery in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, will release its Mother's Day limited beer, "Mother's Day Weizen," on April 24, 2026. The beer comes in a 330 ml bottle with a black cat label, and gift sets with carnations will also be available.
Sankt Gallen Brewery (Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture) will begin selling its Mother's Day limited beer, "Mother's Day Weizen," on April 24, 2026. It is a seasonal product for Mother's Day, with sales planned to continue until around the holiday.
"Mother's Day Weizen" is a white beer in the Weizen style made with more than 50% wheat malt. It has restrained bitterness, a soft mouthfeel, and a fruity aroma derived from the yeast. When poured into a glass, it is said to release a banana-like aroma, making it approachable even for people who are not usually fond of beer. It has an alcohol content of 5.5% and comes in a 330 ml bottle.
The label features a black cat that was rescued next to the brewery and is now kept by the staff. Designed with the cat sitting neatly while holding a carnation in its mouth, it has a gift-friendly look suited to Mother's Day. It is also an easy choice for cat lovers.
Sales will be centered on the official online shop, and in addition to the standalone Mother's Day Weizen, the company will also offer tasting sets with its regular products, as well as sets combined with potted carnations. For example, combinations with its summer fruit beer or "Thank You Beer," and a four-beer tasting set with carnations, are among the options being offered.
Sankt Gallen is known as the "original local beer maker," having carried out small-scale brewing in the United States even before craft beer was legalized in Japan. It has consistently focused on ales and has produced many seasonal and fruit-based beers. Mother's Day Weizen can also be seen as a limited beer that reflects this style of seasonal product planning.
