Great Dane Brewing will bring an Oktoberfest-style celebration to its brewery in Akiu, Sendai, on October 3 and 4, 2026. The event will run from 11:00 to 20:00 on both days at 5 Biwabara, Yumoto, Akiu-machi, Taihaku-ku, Sendai, Miyagi.

Visitors can enjoy German beer and food alongside live music, a raffle, games, and other stage activities. The event is open to families, groups of friends, and solo visitors. Stage entertainment is free, while food and drinks are served through a ticket system. Tickets are available at the entrance, with the number of tickets required varying by beer and menu item.

During the festival, the restaurant will pause its regular menu and serve event-exclusive dishes instead. The shop will continue its usual sales of canned beer, apparel, and other merchandise. Organizers also recommend bringing an extra layer, as temperatures are expected to drop later in the day.

Free shuttle buses will run between Aiko Station and the brewery on both event days. Visitors coming from Sendai Station can also take Takeya Kotsu’s Seibu Liner bus to the Grand Hotel-mae stop near the brewery.

Great Dane Brewing traces its roots to a brand founded in Wisconsin in 1994 and opened its Akiu brewery in January 2024. Operating under the motto “Wisconsin Born, Sendai Brewed,” the brewery combines established beer traditions with modern brewing techniques. Its restaurant also pairs fresh beer with dishes that bring together ingredients from Miyagi and American culinary influences.

With beer, food, music, and the atmosphere of Akiu in autumn, the festival offers a brewery-centered way to experience Great Dane Brewing’s cross-cultural identity.
