Oirase Brewery Introduces Shikisai-kan for Oktoberfest 2026
Oirase Brewery has introduced Shikisai-kan, a tourism and local-products center in Towada, as one of the vendors at OIRASE BEER Oktoberfest 2026. The venue will feature freshly fried okara doughnuts made with locally produced okara on September 19 and 20.
A local Towada treat for the beer festival
Oirase Brewery has announced Shikisai-kan as a featured vendor for “OIRASE BEER Oktoberfest 2026.” Located in Towada, Aomori, the tourism and local-products center will prepare and sell okara doughnuts made with locally produced okara. The doughnuts will be fried on site, allowing visitors to enjoy them fresh from the fryer.
OIRASE BEER Oktoberfest 2026 will take place on September 19 and 20 at Roadside Station Oirase Roman Park. The event will bring together craft breweries from Aomori, along with cider, sake, restaurants, food trucks, and live entertainment. Admission is free. The festival runs from 10:00 to 18:00 on September 19 and from 10:00 to 16:30 on September 20.
Beer festival food often leans toward salty, savory dishes, but freshly fried okara doughnuts offer a different kind of pairing. Their light texture makes them suitable as a snack between beers or as a sweet finish after a meal. Visitors can enjoy them alongside the beers and food available throughout the venue.
Beer shaped by Oirase’s natural water
Based in Oku-se, Towada, Oirase Brewery has been producing Oirase Beer since 1997. The brewery uses spring water from the Oirase area, fed by the Hakkoda mountain region, and presents its beers as a way to experience Aomori’s natural surroundings.
Its lineup includes a crisp Pilsner, a dark lager with a clean finish, a rich Amber Lager, and a fruity Weizen. The festival offers an opportunity to explore these beers while also discovering local food from Towada and the wider Aomori region.
For beer lovers planning an autumn visit to Towada, the combination of Oirase Beer and Shikisai-kan’s freshly made okara doughnuts provides an approachable way to enjoy the area’s brewing culture and local flavors in one place.
