Today's lineup

Marumugi is a small beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku. The bar, which opened in 2011, is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays and operates from 18:00 to 24:00. For June 28, it posted a five-beer tap list with the usual price tiers of large 1,200 yen plus extra charge and small 900 yen plus extra charge.

The lineup covers a clear range of styles:

- 12 DA CAPO / Y.MARKET BREWING (Aichi, 4.5%)
- KIWI IPA / TWO RABBITS BREWING (Shiga, 6.0%)
- Amakusa Shiranui Weizen / Mojiko Retro Beer (Fukuoka, 5.0%)
- THUNDERSTRUCK IPA / Repubrew × open air brewing (Shizuoka, 5.5%)
- Alt / Shonan Beer (Kanagawa, 5.0%)

From a tropical NZ-hop IPA to a citrus-forward weizen, from a pepper-accented collaboration IPA to a maltier alt, the list is built for side-by-side drinking. Marumugi's appeal is its straightforward, daily-tap style: a neighborhood beer bar that clearly posts what is pouring and lets the beers do the talking.
