First anniversary food release: cheese-heavy pizza
Beer Bar Awatachi, a craft beer pub in central Fukui, has revealed the first special food item for its 5th anniversary celebrations. The plan uses Shinei Terrace behind the bar and focuses on food designed to pair well with beer. The first featured vendor is Happy Cheese, a local cheese specialty shop.
Happy Cheese will take part as the fictional pizza shop "Hapichi Pizza," a concept that imagines what would happen if the cheese store opened a pizza business. The pizzas are made in-house and use plenty of natural cheese from Europe. The menu includes a Margherita with tomato, basil, and buffalo mozzarella, plus a Quattro Formaggi made with four kinds of cheese. Additional cheese-loaded pizzas are also planned.
What to drink
For the anniversary, Awatachi will pour its "5th Anniversary Beer" brewed by Yellow Monkey Brewing (YMB), and the taps will be taken over by YMB beers. Other planned items include anniversary glasses, stickers, and a RUN FOR BEER session on the morning of August 1.
The event runs for three days, from July 31 to August 2. Hours are 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 31, 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on August 1, and 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on August 2. For a beer bar in the Fukui station area, it is a celebration built around both the beer lineup and the food pairings.
