Azumino Brewery has announced its participation in the 9th Craft Beer Festival in Matsumoto. The festival will take place at Matsumoto Castle Park from September 19 through 23, 2026. More than 100 craft beers from breweries in Nagano Prefecture, across Japan, and overseas are scheduled to be served.

Set against the scenery of historic Matsumoto Castle, the festival will also feature food booths using ingredients from Nagano. Azumino Brewery will introduce its beers to visitors as part of the gathering, which offers an opportunity to compare a wide range of regional brewing styles in one location.

Based in Hotaka, Azumino City, the brewery builds its beers around the local environment. It grows its own “Azumino Hops” and the barley variety “Koharu Nijo,” while using groundwater from the Northern Alps. Its signature beer, Sui, highlights the aroma of local hops and a gentle bitterness, supported by the area’s soft spring water.

Azumino Brewery also operates a taproom where guests can enjoy freshly brewed beer alongside food while viewing the brewing area. At the Matsumoto festival, visitors will be able to explore how the brewery’s beers reflect the agricultural landscape and water of Azumino while tasting offerings from breweries across the region.

The festival runs from 12:00 to 17:30 on September 19, 11:00 to 17:30 from September 20 to 22, and 11:00 to 17:00 on September 23. The venue is Matsumoto Castle Park, 4-1 Marunouchi, Matsumoto, Nagano. Visitors should follow the organizers’ safety guidance and never drive after drinking.
