The beer pub Enibrew in Nakamozu, Sakai, Osaka has kicked off its annual spring in-house event, “Sakura Festival.” In a post, the venue introduces a space decorated with a large cherry blossom tree, where guests can enjoy the feeling of hanami with a glass in hand. Located just a two-minute walk from the station, it is an easy stop for a drink on the way home from work.
This time, the focus is a beer selection themed around cherry blossoms. The lineup consists of four beers: Ise Kadoya Beer’s “Haru no Sasayaki,” HOPDOG BREWING’s “Sakura Sakihokore,” Sankt Gallen’s “Sankt Gallen Sakura,” and Niwaji Brewery’s “Ouka Ranman.”
Each one has a springlike direction, with clearly distinct character: floral aromas derived from sakura yeast, a lightness from Akita rice, nuances reminiscent of sakura mochi, and the contrast between sweet cherry blossom fragrance and hop bitterness. Tasting them side by side makes the differences in design easy to see, even among beers all called “sakura beer,” making this especially interesting for beer lovers.
In addition, the post suggests Japanese sake suited to cherry blossoms and dishes for the day, making it a lineup that can be enjoyed with food while keeping beer at the center. With over 80 bottles in stock and Beer To Go available, there are plenty of options whether you want to drink in the bar or take some home.
