Overview of the Limited Release

Yotei Brewing, based in Niseko Town, Hokkaido, has unveiled its limited release "AMPLFY, Amplify West Coast IPA." The article positions the beer as a West Coast-style brew that balances freshness and bitterness while evoking the early-summer scenery of Niseko.

A Single-Hop IPA Built Around Vista

This release is a single-hop IPA made with Vista from Hollingbery & Son. Yotei Brewing explains that rather than drastically changing the malt bill from beer to beer, it focuses on a design that brings out the hop's character. For this Vista, it revealed that the hop was obtained not through its usual direct contract route, but via Hakko Supply.

In pellet form, it reportedly showed aromas reminiscent of yellow peach and apricot, and after dry hopping it shifted toward nuances of green melon and blackberry. The finished beer has been tuned into a substantial West Coast IPA with firm bitterness beneath a refreshing character.

Numbers and Sales Information

The specs are ABV 6.0% and IBU 50. The malt bill uses Rahr 2-row and CMC 2-row, and the hops are Hollingbery Vista (VTA-1501-P11).

Sales have started through Yotei Brewing's online shop and Niseko Michi-no-Eki View Plaza. In addition, the craft pub Brian Brew in Sapporo's Tanuki COMICHI is scheduled to tap it soon.

Along with the changing seasons in Niseko, this is a limited release that clearly reflects the brewery's design philosophy, with the hop character standing out in a very direct way.
