Uchu Brewing Introduces Teenage Brewing Collaboration 'The Hop Group' at Kobuchizawa Taproom
Uchu Brewing in Hokuto, Yamanashi, introduced the collaboration beer 'The Hop Group' with Teenage Brewing as an announcement from its Kobuchizawa Taproom. Finished as a DDH TIPA, this beer puts the tropical aroma derived from hops front and center.
At Uchu Brewing's Kobuchizawa Taproom, the collaboration beer 'The Hop Group' with Teenage Brewing is being introduced. The style is DDH TIPA, with an alcohol content of 9.5%. On the Uchu side, in addition to American Citra hops, they used New Zealand Motueka, Peacharine, and Nectaron, and finished it with oat protein as well.
In the tasting notes, fruitiness evoking mango, orange, and pineapple is placed at the core. Although DDH TIPA can tend to feel rich and heavy, the hop combination and brewing adjustments suggest a design aimed at balancing juiciness and drinkability. Teenage Brewing is also offering a collaboration beer of the same name, and it is interesting that the two breweries are expressing the same theme through different formulations.
Uchu Brewing, based in Hokuto, Yamanashi, is known for beer-making that emphasizes aroma and fruitiness, including taproom-only releases and collaboration beers. In this Kobuchizawa Taproom announcement as well, limited releases and collaboration beers are presented side by side, creating a lineup intended for on-site comparison tasting. For beer fans, it is content that lets them enjoy the brand's character and the collaboration partner's interpretation at the same time.
