Mizonokuchi Brewery serves limited-draft 'TOMATO' tomato lager with Kidokoro Farm produce
Mizonokuchi Brewery in Kawasaki has started pouring 'TOMATO,' a collaboration beer made with tomatoes from Kidokoro Farm. The 6.4% tomato lager is available only on draft and in limited quantities at the taproom.
Mizonokuchi Brewery, based in Mizonokuchi, Kawasaki, has begun serving a new draft beer called TOMATO at its taproom. The beer is a Tomato Lager at 6.4% ABV, brewed with Saaz and Motueka hops and about 40 kg of tomatoes from Kidokoro Farm.
According to the brewery note, the beer layers malt sweetness with tomato character and leaves a fruity finish. The staff note describes a clean, clear-drinking lager with gentle tomato sweetness and umami, while avoiding the green, vegetal notes some drinkers might expect. The result is presented as a light, approachable lager with the tomato character folded in naturally.
Mizonokuchi Brewery is a microbrewery founded by food and beverage professionals in the Mizonokuchi area. Its brewery-adjacent taproom offers up to 13 taps, including fresh house beer and guest pours. This release connects that local setup with a limited collaboration from Kidokoro Farm. The beer is draft-only, not canned, and will be available until it runs out.
