Kyoto Beer Pub Yumeyomi Adds Shirosuzume’s Akane on Draft
Beer Pub Yumeyomi in Kyoto’s Gion area has tapped Akane from Kagawa-based brewery Shirosuzume. The fruit wheat ale is known for using Sanukihime strawberries from Kayanofarm, bringing a bright, refreshing profile to the lineup.
Beer Pub Yumeyomi, located near Minamiza in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, has started pouring Akane on draft from Shirosuzume, the brewery based in Takamatsu, Kagawa.
Akane is brewed with Sanukihime strawberries, a local variety grown by Kayanofarm in Miki, Kagawa. Publicly available descriptions place it in the fruit wheat ale category, highlighting a fragrant strawberry aroma, gentle acidity, and restrained sweetness. In short, it is presented as a light, refreshing beer rather than a dessert-like fruit beer.
Yumeyomi itself sits on the second floor of the Shima-ya Building, just off Gion Shijo Station. The beer pub format, counter seating, and standing space make it an easy stop for solo drinkers as well as small groups. The bar is also known for its careful handling of draft beer, including its approach to serving Yebisu, alongside domestic and imported taps.
For drinkers looking for something with clear fruit character but enough balance to pair with food, this draft release is a noteworthy one in central Kyoto.
