Beer pub Marumugi in Shinjuku’s Arakicho district posted its tap lineup for August 8. The house pricing is JPY 1,200+ for a large pour and JPY 900+ for a small pour, with some beers carrying an extra JPY 100. The lineup gives the shop a wide range, from a light lager to fruit beer and hop-forward IPA styles.

Today’s beers

- Yorimichi no Lager / Ise Kadoya Beer (Mie) 4.5% +100 yen
A Japanese-style rice lager with a light body and delicate aroma.
- Apple Hop Shinano Gold Ver. / Minami Shinshu Beer (Nagano) 6.5%
A refreshing fruit beer with the aroma of Shinshu apples.
- Nichinan Lemon Fresh-Squeezed Session Hazy IPA / Miyazaki Hideji Beer (Miyazaki) 4.5% +100 yen
A bright session hazy IPA with fresh lemon character.
- Alt / Yokohama Beer (Kanagawa) 5.5%
A traditional altbier with toasted malt notes and gentle depth.
- HOP SNIPEER IPA / Ushitora Brewery (Tochigi) 6.5% +100 yen
A crisp West Coast IPA driven by three hops.

The standout here is Yorimichi no Lager, which is positioned as a beer that works well alongside food and between more assertive pours. The rest of the lineup leans into contrast: fruity, citrusy, malty, and hop-forward options all sit on the same board.

Marumugi’s appeal is its compact, beer-first pub feel in Arakicho. Note that the shop is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays.
