The beer pub "Jibeer Bar Marumugi" in Arakicho, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, has unveiled today’s beer menu for May 30. True to the shop’s style, where you can enjoy a daily-changing selection of craft beer in a small interior, this day’s lineup features five brews, ranging from a more standard-leaning option to hop-forward IPA and citrusy ales.
Today’s Lineup
- Hon Nama / Repubrew (Shizuoka) 5.5% Large ¥1,200+ / Small ¥900+
- Suruga Bay Imperial IPA / Baird Brewing (Shizuoka) 8.5% +¥100
- Shiranui Ale / Shima Brewing (Mie) 5.0% +¥100
- Over Drive Pale Ale / Y.MARKET BREWING (Aichi) 5.5% +¥100
- Kyara-Kyara- / COEDO (Saitama) 5.5%
Among them, "Suruga Bay Imperial IPA" is presented as a beer with aromas evoking citrus and resin, strong bitterness, and a full-bodied drinking experience. From "Hon Nama," an easy first pour, to "Shiranui Ale," like citrus you can drink, to "Over Drive Pale Ale," with a softly warped character, and the lager "Kyara-Kyara-" with both aroma and depth, it is a lineup that makes it easy to choose according to your mood.
One of Marumugi’s charms is the ability to compare beers with different styles little by little while drinking in the alleyways of Arakicho. It seems like a daily menu that craft beer fans will want to check out, especially on days when they want to carefully savor each glass rather than seek flashiness.
The shop also notes that it is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays, and announces that it will be closed on June 7 and 8 due to the owner’s schedule, with June 9 also being a regular closing day, and normal business resuming on June 10.
