Beer Yumeyomi, a beer pub in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, has tapped Numazu Craft’s Baikamo IPA.
Baikamo IPA is an American-style IPA inspired by Mishima baikamo, a small white-flowering aquatic plant associated with the Kakita River in Shizuoka. The beer uses aromatic hops including Simcoe and Amarillo, bringing citrus-like freshness and floral hop character to the glass. A firm, hop-derived bitterness follows, giving the beer a distinctly IPA-like presence.
The beer is listed at 6.6% ABV, with bitterness in the approximate range of 40–49 IBU. Its crisp finish makes it suitable for sipping on its own, while its hop character also pairs naturally with herb- and spice-forward dishes, meat, and other Southeast Asian-inspired food.
Numazu Craft is produced by Kakita River Brewing in Numazu, Shizuoka. The brewery’s beers often draw on local landscapes and water, and Baikamo IPA carries that regional identity in both its name and concept. Having it available on draft in Kyoto offers beer drinkers a chance to experience a Shizuoka beer beyond its home area.
Located on the second floor of Shimaya Building along Shijo-dori in Higashiyama, Beer Yumeyomi is a beer pub where guests can explore beers from Japan and abroad. Tap availability may change, so checking with the pub before visiting is recommended.
