OUR BREWING announces Nom King, a collaboration West Coast IPA with NOMCRAFT Brewing
On August 31, Fukui City’s OUR BREWING introduced Nom King, a collaboration beer with NOMCRAFT Brewing. The new release is a West Coast IPA, named after the “King” beers of both breweries, with a release planned for the following week.
Fukui-based OUR BREWING introduced its new beer Nom King on Instagram on August 31. The beer is a collaboration with NOMCRAFT Brewing and is brewed as a West Coast IPA. The name comes from the fact that both breweries have flagship beers with “King” in the name.
According to the post, the two breweries approached the same style from different angles. OUR BREWING focused on crispness, while NOMCRAFT Brewing emphasized body. The recipe also pushed into less common territory for a West Coast IPA, including the use of oat malt and an adjusted fermentation profile. The hop bill includes Simcoe, Dynaboost Citra, and Citra CRYO, aiming for a balance of pineapple- and bubblegum-like aromas, malt character, and a clean drinking finish.
OUR BREWING operates its brewery and taproom in MINIE, right by Fukui Station, and has built its lineup around beers that are simple, flavorful, and easy to share. Nom King fits that direction while adding another brewer’s interpretation to the mix. The post says the IPA brewed with NOMCRAFT Brewing is scheduled to release next week.
