A gathering of Shonan’s craft makers

The “Kama and Taru Harvest Festival Local Craft Spirits & Beer” will be held on September 26 and 27, 2026, at the Gate Square outdoor area on the first floor of Terrace Mall Shonan. The event is scheduled to run from 11:00 to 18:00 on both days. It may be canceled in severe weather, and drinks will be available only while supplies last.

Kamakura Beer will appear alongside breweries including Barbaric WORKS, MacKenDy BREWERY, MIURA brewery, Odawara Garage Brewing, Ken’s Brewery, Yokosuka Beer, Home Ground Hop, and YGGDRASIL BREWING. Distilleries and spirits makers such as Yokohama Gin Distillery, Atami Distillery, and SHIRAHAMA DISTILLERY are also scheduled to participate.

The festival’s appeal lies in its broad view of local craft alcohol. Visitors can compare beers, gin, whisky, and craft liqueurs while learning about the ingredients, techniques, and philosophies behind each producer. For beer fans, it offers an opportunity to explore Shonan’s brewing culture beyond a single brewery or beer style.

Kamakura-born beer at the festival

Based in Kamakura, Kanagawa, Kamakura Beer received its brewing license in 1998. The brewery presents its beers as a natural companion to Kamakura’s food culture, with core releases including “Tsuki,” an altbier; “Hoshi,” a pale ale; and “Hana,” a brown ale.

Its “ROUTE134 Beer” is an IPA inspired by the Shonan coastline, featuring a refreshing citrus hop aroma, a clean profile, and a crisp bitterness. The specific beers available at the festival will depend on the event-day lineup.

Drinks must be served in either a pre-purchased original tumbler or a rental tumbler available at the venue. Advance tickets include a 440ml tumbler and three drink tickets, while same-day options include a rental tumbler and drink tickets. Payments are cashless only, so visitors should check the ticket and payment arrangements before attending.
