DAILY BEPPU in Beppu, Oita, announced on Instagram that it will host a tap takeover featuring FLORA FERMENTATION on August 29. Brewer and representative Kohei Ohnishi is scheduled to be on site, while the beer lineup will be finalized later. The venue says it plans to pour eight taps and showcase a wide range of styles.
FLORA FERMENTATION is a brewery based in Higashiomi, Shiga, built around the idea of making beer through agriculture and fermentation. Its official site describes a process that starts in the field, with barley and hops grown on its own land and beer conceived as a story that runs from the farm to the glass. Recent posts have also documented the brewery's first barley and spelt harvest, as well as pelletizing its homegrown hops.
The Beppu event appears to be a chance to taste that approach in one place. According to the post, FLORA FERMENTATION has been carried at DAILY BEPPU since last year, and the upcoming session will again be paired with a beer run. Anyone interested in joining or asking questions is directed to the organizer for details.
