Tono Brewing Serves Limited Beer "Hoppy Amber" for 8th Anniversary Thank-You Week
Tono Brewing will hold its 8th Anniversary Thank-You Week from April 29 to May 6. A limited beer, "Hoppy Amber," will be on tap in the taproom. Built on an American Red Ale brewed five years ago, it is finished with Verdant IPA yeast and extra hops.
Tono Brewing (Tono City, Iwate Prefecture) is holding its 8th Anniversary Thank-You Week from April 29 to May 6. During the event, the limited beer Hoppy Amber will be on tap, and a limited quantity of draft beer for wholesale sale will also be available.
This time’s "Hoppy Amber" is based on an American Red Ale that was brewed once five years ago. The beer was originally designed by the owner, aiming for a drink that balanced the fruity aroma of hops with the caramel notes of malt, while being both easy to drink and satisfying. For this release, Verdant IPA yeast is being used for the first time, creating a beer that is hop-forward yet still offers a malty character.
The post explains that Verdant IPA yeast brings out a tropical aroma reminiscent of apricots, adding brightness and depth to the beer. Hop usage has also been increased to 1.5 times the previous amount. As a limited release, it has a more clearly defined hoppy profile.
Based in Tono, known as a hop-producing region, Tono Brewing is a brewery that serves freshly made craft beer. At its company-owned TAPROOM, just a 3-minute walk from Tono Station, six taps are available at all times, and seasonal styles can also be enjoyed. For the brewery, which has continued making beer rooted in the local water and the history of hops, the 8th anniversary is also a chance to express gratitude to the community and its fans.
It is a beer worth trying on-site not only for those who love hoppy red ales, but also for anyone who wants to enjoy the balance of malty aroma and hop character.
