Tono Brewing to host a two-day collaboration with Kawada Mojiyaki-ten
Tono Brewing in Iwate Prefecture will host a collaboration event with traveling monjayaki vendor Kawada Mojiyaki-ten on September 2-3 at its taproom. The event pairs more than 10 monjayaki options with the brewery’s own craft beer and is now taking reservations.
Kawada Mojiyaki-ten, a traveling monjayaki shop, will return to Tono Brewing’s TAPROOM for a two-day collaboration on Wednesday, September 2 and Thursday, September 3.
The post says visitors can enjoy more than 10 kinds of monjayaki together with craft beer. Admission is free, and the monjayaki is offered on a pay-what-you-wish basis. Reservations are accepted by DM or by phone, and the brewery notes that September 2 is nearly full while September 3 still has room.
Kawada Mojiyaki-ten is a monjayaki shop from Ashikaga, Tochigi, with a 56-year history. The owner, who carries on the family recipe, travels around Japan with a griddle and serves a style of monjayaki that uses few ingredients and no dough wall, in the traditional manner.
Tono Brewing is based in Tono, Iwate, an area known for hop cultivation. Its taproom is a three-minute walk from Tono Station and serves house-brewed beer on six taps. The brewery’s mission is to create an open beer culture rooted in local ingredients and the community. The event should be a fitting meeting point for regional food and fresh beer in Japan’s hop country.
