Kagoshima food and beer come to Hatagaya

Sankaku Beer Works will take part in Kagoshima Unique 2026 at LUG Hatagaya in Tokyo on Monday, October 12. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., bringing together food and drink makers connected to Kagoshima for a day focused on the region’s distinctive culinary culture.

The centerpiece will be the first presentation of “Volcanic Passion,” a collaboration between Sankaku Beer Works and BLUE LUG. The beer uses passion fruit, layering its tropical fruit character with the soft bitterness of Hallertau and a fresh hop aroma. Its profile is described as juicy, aromatic, and gently tart.

Different flavors throughout the day

The daytime program, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., will feature Sakanoue Unique, a popular Kagoshima ramen shop. From 4 p.m., Hashimoto Suisan will serve dishes made with fresh Kagoshima seafood, while Kitchen Kanejo from Hatagaya will also join the evening program. BLUE LUG will offer an original cocktail made with the collaboration beer.

Sankaku Beer Works brews local craft beer in the Kawabe area of southern Kagoshima, using water from Shimizu Spring, selected as one of Japan’s 100 celebrated water sources. Its range includes Jadd-IPA, which balances hop aroma and malt character, and the lighter Yadd-Golden ALE.

In addition to “Volcanic Passion,” original Sankaku Beer Works beers are expected to be available. The event offers a chance to explore Kagoshima through beer, ramen, seafood, and creative cooking in Tokyo.
