New Tap
At WORLD BEER&DINING MIHAMA BASE (Mihama Base) in Takasu, Mihama Ward, Chiba City, NEKOBEER’s “Nerutora-san” was newly tapped on April 22. Operating as a craft beer specialty shop in Makuhari, the venue also offers craft beer for takeaway, making it an easy place to drop in casually.
This “Nerutora-san” is a DDH West Coast IPA from Fukuoka’s NEKOBEER. At 6.5% ABV, it is a clear IPA that uses plenty of hops, centered on Nelson Sauvin and Citra. Nelson Sauvin is also used for bittering, bringing out a pleasant bitterness and aroma, and Citra and Citra Cryo are added in the dry hop. Its defining feature is the fresh citrus aroma that drifts out and the clean finish.
In Mihama Base’s introduction, it’s described as a beer that is not only great for drinking by the pint as your first beer, but also pairs well with meals and can be enjoyed as a final drink. A West Coast IPA with a clear hop profile is also easy to use as a beer with food, and the fact that it does not clash with too many dishes is an advantage.
