Mizonokuchi Brewery begins offering Kveik IPA "Skål" as draft-only
Mizonokuchi Brewery, a craft beer hub in Mizonokuchi, Kanagawa, has unveiled its new beer, "Skål." The style is Kveik IPA, with ABV 6.0% and IBU 40.4. It is now on tap at tap No. 11, and will be offered exclusively as draft, with no can or bottle sales.
The new release Mizonokuchi Brewery announced on Instagram on March 18 is "Skål (Skol)", which means "cheers" in Norwegian.
According to the post, the style is Kveik IPA, with specs of ABV 6.0% / IBU 40.4. The hops are Centennial, Amarillo, Riwaka, and Galaxy, and the yeast used is Hornindal Kveik.
According to the brewery notes, the combination of Hornindal Kveik-derived fruitiness and hops brings out a tropical aroma, while the beer is designed not to lean too far toward a hazy impression on the palate, instead delivering firm bitterness and a crisp finish. Staff tasting notes also mention aromas reminiscent of mango and passion fruit, along with a citrusy bitter finish toward the end, presenting an IPA profile that is easy to drink without getting tiring.
The beer is available exclusively on draft, and is currently on tap at No. 11. Since there are no can or bottle take-home sales, the only way to get it is by ordering a glass at the taproom.
