'Akahana' arrives on tap
Nutori Brewing in Kawaguchi, Saitama, announced that its collaboration beer 'Nutoshiro-rie' had sold out and followed it with a new tap pour: the red ale 'Akahana.' The brewery was operating with football on in the background, giving the taproom a relaxed, everyday feel.
Nutori Brewing is a small local brewery in a residential area near Kawaguchi Station West Exit. According to its official information, it has been making house beer since February 2021 in a converted 50-year-old apartment building. At the attached beer hall, Bishu Shokudo Nutori, guests can pair freshly brewed beer with the brewery's nourishing food, including shumai and seasonal Japanese side dishes.
'Akahana' has been presented as a red-colored beer meant for slow drinking. In earlier announcements, the brewery described it as aromatic and easygoing, positioning it as a beer to sip gradually in the afternoon or alongside a meal. Rather than a loud, high-impact release, it fits the brewery's style of offering beers that work naturally with food and a casual visit.
Nutori Brewing has built its identity around small-scale production and a strong local connection. This tap change is another example of how the brewery keeps the lineup moving in response to the day-to-day flow of the bar.
For drinkers in Kawaguchi, 'Akahana' is one more reason to stop in and see what is pouring.
