Five beers with an early autumn character

Jibeer Bar Marumugi, a craft beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo, has announced its tap list for September 9. Large servings are priced at 1,200 yen and small servings at 900 yen, with a 100-yen surcharge on selected beers.

COEDO’s “Akane” leads the lineup. This 5.0% American pale ale offers floral and citrus aromas, restrained bitterness, and a gentle malt character. Its soft profile should pair well with food and suit the cooler feel of early autumn.

Y.MARKET BREWING contributes “Hysteric IPA,” a 7.0% IPA built around complex hop aromas and a pronounced bitterness. It is the choice for drinkers looking for a fuller and more assertive beer.

Minoh Beer’s “Domestic Peach Weizen Hakuho Ver.” is a 5.0% fruit weizen made with Japanese Hakuho peaches. Juicy peach aromas meet the banana and clove notes associated with weizen, while wheat malt gives the beer a soft texture and a clean finish.

From Mojiko Retro Beer comes “Sakura Beer,” a 5.5% beer inspired by the historic atmosphere of Mojiko. Its nostalgic character makes it a good option for those who prefer a malt-forward beer with a classic feel.

Great Dane Brewing’s “EVERYDAY IPA” rounds out the list at 4.7%. Light-bodied and hop-forward, the session IPA is designed for easy drinking and works equally well as a first pint or a relaxed final glass.

Marumugi is located on the second floor of Ichiban-kan Building, 1 Arakicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo. The bar is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays. For craft beer fans exploring the Yotsuya area, this five-beer selection offers a compact tour of different styles and brewing regions across Japan.
