A seasonal BANK IPA featuring Yosano-grown Chinook
Craft Bank, a brewery based in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto, has announced F.B.I 2026, a seasonal beer made with fresh hops. The name stands for “FRESH BANK IPA,” and the beer is a seasonal version of the brewery’s flagship BANK IPA. Its main hop is 2026 Chinook grown in Yosano, a town neighboring Fukuchiyama.
Yosano has been working to develop the community through hop cultivation. For this beer, Craft Bank visited the area with participants from its fourth-anniversary event and harvested freshly picked hops together. The resulting IPA reflects the brewery’s connection with the neighboring growing region.
The beer is designed around the green, vibrant character of fresh hops, balanced by citrus and pine aromas for a refreshing profile. Alongside Chinook from Yosano, the hop bill includes Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Centennial, Chinook, and KRUSH. The malt lineup consists of PILSNER, PALE ALE, and CARA PILS.
The label artwork was created by illustrator Myuyap. It depicts memories from the fourth-anniversary tour from Fukuchiyama to Yosano and Amanohashidate, including the group’s efforts to pick fresh hops under the summer sun and enjoy beer together. The artwork also captures Craft Bank’s guiding phrase: “Let’s do something with a beer in hand.”
F.B.I 2026 is an IPA with an alcohol content of 5.5%. Its ingredients are malt produced outside Japan and hops, and it is packaged in 350ml cans. Brewed at Craft Bank’s former-bank-building location, the beer connects local people, regional agriculture, and the brewery’s seasonal approach.
