Inspired by a beer enjoyed in Munich

Craft Bank’s FEST GOLD is a Festbier inspired by the style traditionally enjoyed at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. According to the brewery, the beer was developed from the brewer’s memories of drinking Festbier during a visit to Germany as a student.

Pilsner malt forms the base, while Munich and Vienna malts add depth and a firm malt backbone without making the body feel heavy. The hop bill—Spalter Select, Hersbrucker and Northern Brewer—focuses on gentle herbal and spicy nuances, allowing the malt character to remain at the center.

Deep gold color and a clean finish

FEST GOLD pours a deep gold. Its malt profile brings a measured sweetness and a rich, rounded impression, while the finish remains clean and light. The result combines the fuller malt presence associated with Festbier and the crisp drinkability expected from a lager.

The beer has an alcohol content of 6.0% and is packaged in 350ml cans. Its listed ingredients are malt, produced overseas, and hops. The malt selection includes Pilsner, Munich Type I, Vienna and Carafa III.

Brewed in a renovated former bank

Craft Bank is based in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto. In 2022, the brewery renovated a former bank building that had stood vacant for around 30 years, transforming it into a brewing facility. The site also includes a brewpub and coworking space, creating a place where beer and the local community meet.

FEST GOLD connects a classic German beer style with Craft Bank’s brewing work in Fukuchiyama. With its malt richness, restrained hop character and clean lager finish, it is suited to autumn meals or any occasion for enjoying the layered character of malt at an unhurried pace.
