TBE Brewing's May 21 tap list features Hop Kotan's "Misty Way" and Shiga Kogen's "No. 10 IPA"
Tokyo's Ebisu beer pub TBE Brewing has published its tap list for May 21. This time, Hop Kotan Brewing's "Misty Way" and Shiga Kogen Beer's "No. 10 IPA" are newly on tap. From staples to collaboration brews, a broad range of Japanese craft beers is lined up.
Tokyo's Ebisu-minami beer pub "TBE Brewing" announced its May 21 KEG lineup on Instagram. The shop is on the second floor of the Shinbori Guitar Building, and as an easy stop on the way home from work, it's a beer pub where you can enjoy craft beer alongside ever-changing food specials.
There were two new kegs tapped that day. One was Hop Kotan Brewing "Misty Way" 7.0%, and the other was Shiga Kogen Beer "No. 10 IPA" 7.5%. In the post, Misty Way was described as "so easy to drink you don't even notice the 7%", and it was introduced as a beer with a notably light mouthfeel. For No. 10, a tasting comparison with DOGFISH × OXBOW × SHIGAKOGEN "Kind of Gold" was also recommended.
At that point, the KEG lineup also included the following labels.
- Black Tide / #480 Tohoku Pride 6.0%
- Shiga Kogen Beer / DPA 5.0%
- Ushitora Brewery / Sachi Hop Session IPA 4.0%
- Minoh Beer / Kozaru IPA 4.5%
- Gangi Brewing / Swoony 5.0%
- Brew Classic / Heartful Tiger 6.5%
- Ise Kadoya Beer / Sake Lees Hazy IPA ZAKU Shinryoku 6.5%
- DOGFISH × OXBOW × SHIGAKOGEN / Kind of Gold 8.0%
Also listed as NEXT TAP BEER for what comes next were Shiga Kogen Beer "Kasumi", Nomcraft "7th Anniversary Sour IPA", Open Air "Clear Waves", Black Tide "#490 Hazy Wave Ver. 1.0", and Paint Palette "Under the Sun". Some were said to have only a small amount left, making for a tap lineup that turns over quickly.
On the food side, the menu included bonito tataki carpaccio, grilled kuroge wagyu short rib, tender beef tendon simmered with sansho pepper, sauteed nagaimo with butter and soy sauce, two kinds of deep-fried tofu topped with plenty of scallions, simmered Hokkaido isotsubu shellfish, and shrimp and tomato oil pasta. The lineup is set up so you can pair each beer's character with anything from light appetizers to hearty meat dishes.
TBE Brewing is a place for anyone in Ebisu who wants to take their time over a glass. Centered on Japanese breweries, it offers a wide selection ranging from staples and IPAs to hazies and collaboration beers, so there's real enjoyment in working your way through the tap list.
