Miyazaki-based Hideji Beer Mukabaki Brewery in Nobeoka City has released the Kumamoto recovery beer HOPe Step Jump for Kumamoto from Miyazaki starting today. Timed to mark the 10th anniversary of the Kumamoto earthquake, the project was launched with the cooperation of the Kumamoto Nichinichi Shimbun and began with four companies, including Minamiaso Beer and Mojiko Retro Beer.

This beer uses spring water from the Shiio Spring in Mashiki Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, as well as Cascade hops and rice from Minamiaso. It also incorporates two additional hop varieties, Luminosa and Superdelic, with the recipe said to reflect an image of the future that lies beyond the disaster.

Each part of the product name "HOPe Step Jump" carries its own meaning.

- HOPe: a word combining hops and hope
- STEP: the path traveled so far
- JUMP: a leap forward into the next stage, together with the people who supported recovery

The flavor is described as fruity, easy to drink, and a good match for meals, making it approachable even for people who are not familiar with craft beer. Part of the sales will be donated to support Kumamoto's regional recovery, including earthquake reconstruction efforts. Rather than being just another new product launch, it deserves attention as a beer that connects the memory of the land with future support.
