Fukuoka Craft Brewing has begun selling a new batch of 'Sea and Tomato Mexican Ale'. In an Instagram post, it was introduced as a notice of a new product release, and this time it appears as the second batch of a popular item.
This beer is a Mexican ale inspired by Mexico's beer cocktail, the michelada. With an alcohol content of 4.0%, it is designed to layer the tartness and sweetness of tomato with the savory umami of clam extract. Habanero salsa made with tomatoes from Okagaki Town adds a final accent, resulting in a flavor with clear contours despite its lightness.
The guidance on the official website says it is the lowest-alcohol product among the beers brewed by Fukuoka Craft. The suggested way to drink it is straightforward: enjoy it as is, or add lime or lemon juice and tajin to the rim of the glass, then pour it over ice for a Mexican-style beer-cocktail experience.
Fukuoka Craft Brewing is a brewery based in Okagaki Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. On its official website, it says it uses natural water pumped from 50 meters underground and aims to spread craft beer from Fukuoka as a culture. This new batch, which connects local ingredients with a Mexico-inspired way of drinking, seems like another creation very much in the brewery's style.
