Toriido Brewery to Host an 8-Person Fresh-Hop Harvest Tour on August 29
Toriido Brewery in Kanuma, Tochigi, will hold a small-group fresh-hop harvest and brewing tour, “From Field to Glass,” on August 29. The 8-person event includes hand-picking hops, brewing them the same day, and a bonus ticket for the finished beer a month later.
What the event offers
Toriido Brewery is Kanuma’s first craft brewery, located near Shin-Kanuma Station. The brewery has been building a local identity through beer and food, including a pairing-focused menu centered on Kanuma shumai at its attached dining space.
The newly announced Instagram event puts fresh hops at the center of a one-day experience. On Saturday, August 29, participants will harvest hops by hand in a Kanuma hop field and bring them directly to Toriido’s brewing tank. After a break at the Snow Peak Kanuma Campfield & Spa, the group will move on to a brewing session, brewery tour, and social gathering.
Schedule
- 12:30 Meet at Shin-Kanuma Station
- 13:00 Hop harvest at the farm
- 14:30 Spa break
- 16:00 Brewing session at the brewery
- 16:30 Brewery tour and gathering
- 17:30 End on site
The fee is 7,700 yen, which includes two half-size drinks and two special dishes. Participants also receive a free "future half-pint ticket" that can be used when the beer brewed that day is ready about a month later. Capacity is limited to 8 people, with reservations handled by DM or phone. It is a compact format that lets beer fans follow hops from field to finished pint in a single day.
