Fukuoka Craft Brewing has released its new beer, Ocean Adventure West Coast IPA, on September 11, 2026. The beer is part of a new lineup inspired by the natural surroundings of the brewery in Okagaki, Fukuoka, and was launched alongside Mountain Adventure, a beer created as a tribute to the area’s mountains.

The brewery sits in a landscape framed by Mount Yukawa and Mount Kodai-ji, with fields and the sea beyond. Hatsu Beach, located close to the brewery, is known as a popular surfing and windsurfing destination. It is also home to a clear sandy shore where sea turtles come to lay their eggs. Ocean Adventure was brewed as a tribute to this nearby coastline.

The beer’s defining ingredient is Anchovy hops, a distinctive hop variety that brings bold fruity character. Its aroma and flavor suggest melon, peach, and apricot, creating a rich and expressive profile within the West Coast IPA style. Despite the name Anchovy hop and the beer’s ocean theme, no fish is used in the brewing process.

Fukuoka Craft Brewing produces American-influenced craft beers under the philosophy that craft beer should be entertainment. Ocean Adventure offers a way to connect the glass with the landscape around the brewery, evoking Okagaki’s sea breeze, clear air, and surrounding mountains. Priced at ¥748, it is a fitting beer for leisurely autumn evenings and for drinkers interested in the local character behind a new IPA.
