The collaboration kicks off at a new beer bar in Shibuya

According to Kagiya Brewery’s post, the beer bar “TOWER RECORDS BEER” opened on February 28 on the 6th floor of Tower Records Shibuya. The venue has 12 taps, of which 4 are dedicated to collaboration beers with various breweries. This time, Kagiya Brewery’s contribution is TAP #2, “BRIT HOP.”

“BRIT HOP” is an English IPA built around UK hops

The style is English IPA. The description says it was crafted as an “old-school IPA” that emphasizes the balance between rich malt character and hop bitterness and aroma. Another notable feature is that the hops used are limited to UK varieties. In particular, the new variety Harlequin is used for aroma, clearly indicating a design aimed at an elegant fragrance.

Kagiya Brewery’s character in a collaboration context

The venue’s collaboration lineup also includes REVO from Yokohama, Open Air from Kobe, and Teenage from Saitama. Breweries with different regional roots and personalities are lined up at the same counter. Based in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Kagiya Brewery handles not only daily hands-on brewing, but also wholesale, OEM production, and its own beer bar operations. Even in outside collaborations like this one, its strength lies in clearly expressing its design philosophy.

An English IPA enjoyed with BGM in a space adjacent to an analog record section. In Shibuya, the heart of music culture, it looks set to be a beer that broadens the ways people enjoy craft beer.
