Mochiko chicken meets craft beer

TEGAMISHA BREWERY opened in 2020 at the Nishi-Chofu base and began brewing on June 29, 2023. As a brewery pub run by Tegamisha, it serves 10 taps of domestic craft beer, including its own beer, alongside food, snacks, and bottle or can takeout.

The event, titled “MOCHIKO CHICKEN&CRAFTBEER,” will take place on Saturday, September 5. The guest vendor is FOOD TRUCK SHINCA, which sells mochiko chicken from a kitchen car based near Sengawa Station in Setagaya. Mochiko chicken is a Hawaiian dish made by coating chicken in mochiko flour and frying it until the outside is crisp and the inside stays tender.

On the day, guests can order the original mochiko chicken as well as toppings such as house-made salsa, negi-oroshi ponzu, terimayo, cheddar cheese, and honey mustard. A mochiko chicken lunch set will also be available, making it suitable as both a beer snack and a full meal.

SHINCA’s mochiko chicken won the World Area Grand Prix at the 2024 Kitchen Car Gourmet Championship. The event runs from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with last orders at 9:00 p.m. for food and 9:30 p.m. for drinks. Food will be limited to the collaboration menu, and a one-drink order is required. It is a straightforward food-and-beer pairing event centered on freshly fried chicken and local craft beer in Chofu.
