Surpass HotDogg at Tachinomi Beron

Tachinomi Beron, a standing beer pub in Omachi, Sendai, will host the 31st edition of its “Hot Line” event series. The monthly event invites an interesting chef or food business to Beron, and this edition features Sendai-based hot dog and craft beer shop Surpass HotDogg.

The planned food lineup centers on two varieties of house-made sausages, described as the foundation of Surpass HotDogg’s flavor. Other dishes include a sausage-and-pickle potato salad, coleslaw and chili beans—casual beer-friendly plates designed for a standing-drinking setting.

A featured dish will be Surpass-style fried oysters with salsa, made using single-seed oysters from Onagawa. The menu will also include original snacks prepared specially for the event by Beron’s owner, P-chan.

A third-anniversary beer on draft

On the beer side, Beron will pour “Surpass 3rd Anniversary Beer,” a collaboration between Surpass HotDogg and pherment beer. The beer is presented as a juicy, light hazy pale ale, offering a bright hop character that should pair naturally with sausages, fried oysters and the event’s spicy, tangy accompaniments.

The event follows Beron’s standing-bar format, and one drink order is required. Reservations are not available; food and beer will end when sold out. For craft beer fans visiting Sendai, it is an opportunity to enjoy a draft collaboration beer alongside distinctive house-made food at Tachinomi Beron.
