Eni-Bru, a beer pub in Nakamozu, Sakai City, Osaka, is running its monthly special fair, BEER MEETS SPICE: The IPA & Asian Food Session. According to the post, the event moved into full operation from today after the previous day’s closure, with IPA bitterness and aroma paired against spice-driven dishes.

The IPA lineup features five beers from Japan and overseas:

- Smog City Brewing [USA] / Current Theory IPA
- Isekado / Hat-Trick TDH Hazy IPA
- Brasserie A Route / IPA III
- Nara Brewing / LOCOMOTION
- Banriharu Brewery / IPA

The highlighted pour is Smog City Brewing’s Current Theory IPA, described as the first release in a limited series. It leans into a West Coast profile with grapefruit peel, pine resin, and berry-like notes, finished with a sharp bitterness. For drinkers who want a beer with clarity of aroma and a firm hop edge, this is the one to start with.

The food menu is built around IPA pairing. One dish is Sichuan-style squid with cilantro, combining springy squid with chili heat, Sichuan pepper, and the bright aroma of cilantro. Another is fried dumplings with harissa sauce, where house-made gyoza meets a North African spice sauce built on chili, paprika, cumin, and coriander. Both dishes are designed to work with the hop character of IPA rather than stand apart from it.

Eni-Bru positions itself as a place where craft beer and food create an off-the-routine experience. Located about a two-minute walk from Nakamozu Station, it is set up for beer fans who want to compare tap pours and food pairings in one stop. The fair is scheduled through the 14th, so it is worth checking while the lineup is still active.
