On April 1, the craft beer lineup at Jibeer Bar Marumugi, a beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku Ward, was updated. The selection features five beers in total, including Y.MARKET BREWING's Deco Rian, along with beers from Minoh Beer, Repubrew, Ushitora Brewery, and Minami Shinshu Beer, offering a wide range from dark styles to IPA and fruit beer.
Today's Lineup
At Jibeer Bar Marumugi, a small beer bar in Arakicho, Shinjuku, the tap list for April 1 has been announced. The lineup is priced at 1,200 yen + alpha for a large size and 900 yen + alpha for a small size, with an additional 100 yen added for each beer.
- Decorian / Y.MARKET BREWING (Aichi) / 7.0% / +100 yen
A beer with an impression reminiscent of orange peel chocolate, where citrus layers over the darkness. It combines the richness of dark beer with a fruity character for an aromatic finish.
- MUGICHA BITTER / Minoh Beer (Osaka) / 4.5% / +100 yen
A gentle bitter that evokes the toasty aroma of barley tea. It is a beer that strikes a nice balance between lightness and easy drinkability.
- FONIO BEER / Repubrew (Shizuoka) / 5.5% / +100 yen
Introduced as a high-quality "luxury lager" made with the ancient grain fonio. Within its clean, crisp profile, it should also show character derived from its ingredients.
- Favorite IPA / Ushitora Brewery (Tochigi) / 6.0% / +100 yen
True to the phrase, "Drink a bitter IPA gulp by gulp," this West Coast IPA puts its firm bitterness front and center while staying highly drinkable.
- Apple Hop Kogyoku Ver. / Minami Shinshu Beer (Nagano) / 6.5%
A refreshing fruit beer with the sharp acidity of Kogyoku apples shining through. It seems like a glass with strong fruit character, suitable for after meals or whenever you want a change of pace.
Marumugi is a beer pub on the second floor of Ichibankan Building in Arakicho, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, about a 3-minute walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station. As a shop that opened in 2011, it feels focused more on the content of its taps than on flash. April 1 is April Fools' Day, but the owner keeps some distance from social-media gag ads and instead recommends dropping in for a casual pint at the start of the new fiscal year. If you're in Arakicho and want to drink broadly across dark beers, bitters, lagers, IPAs, and apple beer, this is one place to visit.
