The microbrewery Mizonokuchi Brewery, based in Mizonokuchi, Kanagawa, has added "TAKATSU ENTRY - DDH Hazy IPA - 3 Bottle Set" to its online store.
This beer is a remake of the special DDH Hazy created with local customers for the brewery's third anniversary, reworked into a more approachable entry version. In the product description, it highlights double dry hopping with plenty of hops, and is presented as the first drink to start enjoying the brewery's home area, the Takatsu region.
The specs list it as a DDH Hazy IPA with ABV 6.0%. The hop bill uses Mosaic-CRYO, Citra-CRYO, Mosaic, Amarillo, Strata, and Idaho 7, layering hops with distinct characters to create the rich aroma typical of a hazy IPA. The IBU is undisclosed, and no other adjuncts are listed.
Mizonokuchi Brewery was launched in the spring of 2022 after training at a brewery in Tokyo, and it aims to build a beer-centered community in Mizonokuchi. As a brand, it has rolled out a locally rooted lineup including Nokuchi Beers. This beer can also be seen as one that reflects that neighborhood-focused approach.
The product is sold as a 3-bottle set. The artwork is by Takeshi Wada. In delivering a hazy IPA centered on local ties in an easy-to-try format, this release shows where the brewery is now.
