Himitsu Beer, based in Ise, Mie, announced Chili Hopper, a new Chili IPA brewed at 5% ABV. The beer is built on a hop-forward IPA base, then infused with island chili peppers and taken through secondary fermentation.

According to the post, the aroma brings together chili pepper notes and tropical hop character. On the palate, it leans into dense passion-fruit-like fruitiness, along with fresh grapefruit and lime nuances. The beer is not described as visually red, but it is meant to feel spicy from the first sniff.

Bitterness is intentionally kept in check, allowing the pepper heat and hop aroma to work as a bright, refreshing combination rather than a harsh burn. Himitsu Beer positions it as a beer for food pairing, especially with fried chicken, pizza, tacos, burgers, fried chicken, and even potato chips.

As a brewery in Mie’s Ise area, Himitsu Beer often leans into distinctive, flavor-driven releases. Chili Hopper follows that line with a clear summer concept: a beer designed to sharpen appetite and keep the food coming. The label design was done by @baxsmus_chiezoo.
