From HOJO Brewing & Stays, located in Hojo, Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, facing Monchhichi Beach and billing itself as "the brewery closest to the sea in Japan," a new release has arrived from its original stout-focused brand Stout After All.

This time, the featured beer is the third release, "Stout". It is a bottle crafted by brewer Iwami, with an alcohol content of 5.5%. In an Instagram post, it was introduced as a beer produced in May 2026.

Its flavor highlights are the toasty, malty character derived from dark malts and a subtle, rounded sweetness. On the other hand, the charred notes and astringency often associated with dark beers are restrained, and the finish is clean and refreshing. While giving it the depth expected of a stout, it is designed to be easy to drink even every day.

The post suggests it is approachable even for people who do not usually like dark beer, offering a finish that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with food. It is a beer that should be easy to pick up not only for stout drinkers, but also for those who have avoided stout until now.

HOJO Brewing & Stays is a brewery with a taproom overlooking the Seto Inland Sea and an entire-house lodging facility. Along with the experience of enjoying beer in a seaside location, this new stout is another release worth paying attention to. The post also says that Stout After All products are being introduced as phantom brewing and that they will also be available on the brewery's online shop.
