The first day of the 'Miura Kaigan Beer Festival,' as shared on Instagram by Miura Brewery, got underway with eight breweries setting up shop. The venue is the local exchange hub 'Space Under the Tracks UMICO' in front of Miura Kaigan Station. According to an announcement from Keikyu Electric Railway, the event runs for eight days from April 29 to May 6, with nine breweries participating on a rotating daily basis during the run. Now in its third year, it is an event that colors Golden Week in the Miura Kaigan area.

Miura Brewery is a brewery based in Misaki, Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. With the aim of expressing the sea and seasonal feel of the Miura Peninsula through beer, its regular lineup includes 'MIURA GOLDEN ALE,' 'MIURA COAST IPA,' 'MISAKI MAGURO AMBER,' and 'MIURA ISLAND WHEAT.' On its official website, in addition to its brewing approach that stays close to Miura's scenery and ingredients, it also highlights that visitors can enjoy the beers in the taproom alongside Misaki's specialty tuna and Miura vegetables.

At this event as well, beer is the axis around which local food and the movement of people come together. The post noting that eight breweries gathered on the first day shows not just a sales event, but that craft beer culture is taking root in Miura Kaigan. In a harbor-town setting, the chance to compare pours from local breweries with the character of the area along the line is one of the event's major attractions.
