Abukuma Riverside Brewery in Tamakawa Village, Fukushima Prefecture, has released its seasonal beer, "Yuzu Ale." The official announcement says sales began on Sunday, March 1, 2026. An Instagram post at 12:03 on March 16 also introduced it as a new release for March.

"Yuzu Ale" is a Fruit Ale made with both the peel and juice of yuzu grown in Tamakawa Village, used without wasting any of it. Its specs are 350 ml / Alc. 4.5% / 660 yen including tax, and it is designed to emphasize citrus aroma while using wheat malt to give it a softer mouthfeel. It strikes a balance between lightness and roundness, making it a style that pairs easily with food.

Sales have begun at the brewery shop inside Otsuna Station Tamakawa, the direct-sales outlet inside the Sugama Plaza Community Center, and at local marche and events. At the same time, online sales are also being expanded.

One especially noteworthy part of the brewery's background is its effort to revive hop cultivation, which once took place in Tamakawa Village. As it aims to create "beer that can only be made here" by making use of local agricultural products, this yuzu ale, too, is a beer that brings the scent of the land straight into the glass.
