Abukuma Riverside Brewery, which brews in Tamakawa Village, Ishikawa District, Fukushima Prefecture, is now selling its new product, Kannonji Sakura Lager. In an Instagram post, it is introduced as a beer made with "smoke chips" derived from branches of cherry trees along the Kannonji River.

This beer is a Light Lager characterized by highball-like drinkability and a crisp finish. With a volume of 350 ml and an alcohol content of 3.0%, it is designed for light, easy enjoyment. Its clean lager-like taste, layered with cherry-derived ingredients, makes it a new release with a strong local identity.

Abukuma Riverside Brewery operates in a nature-rich environment along the Abukuma River and produces beer in small batches of 500 to 1000 L. On its official website, the brewery explains that it aims to revive hop cultivation in Tamakawa Village and create "beer making that can only be done in Tamakawa Village" by making use of local ingredients. Its commitment to actively incorporating local agricultural products and regional resources also carries through to this "Kannonji Sakura Lager."

The brewery has continued developing products that make use of local ingredients, including fruit ales made with Fukushima Prefecture's Tamakawa Village specialty, sarunashi, and collaboration beers made with apples. This new release, too, is drawing attention not merely as a seasonal product, but as a beer that expresses the memory and landscape of the land itself.

Purchases are available through the official online shop, and future sales trends and serving locations are likely to attract interest as well.
