A beer marking four years in Okagaki

Fukuoka Craft Brewing, based in Okagaki, Fukuoka, is selling “REDLINE,” an Imperial Red Ale created to celebrate the fourth anniversary of its large-scale brewery. The beer is priced at ¥803 and must be kept refrigerated.

Since opening the brewery, Fukuoka Craft Brewing has produced approximately 400 batches and more than 200 recipes. Its canned beer production has surpassed 800,000 cans, with beer shipped throughout Japan and to markets around the world. “REDLINE” was brewed as a celebration of where FUKUOKA CRAFT stands today, drawing on that experience while looking toward future challenges.

An 8% Imperial Red Ale

“REDLINE” is an Imperial Red Ale with an alcohol content of 8%. The style combines the deep color and malt presence associated with red ales with the fuller, stronger character expected from an imperial-strength beer. The product information does not specify the ingredients or detailed tasting notes, but positions the beer as a snapshot of the brewery’s current approach and capabilities.

Brewing with Okagaki’s natural water

A defining part of Fukuoka Craft Brewing’s identity is its use of natural water drawn from 50 meters underground in Okagaki. Described by the brewery as unusually hard water for Japan, it is considered an essential element in creating the beers the brewery aims to make.

The brewery’s mission is to use this local water to produce distinctive beer from Fukuoka and deliver it to drinkers around the world. With roughly 400 batches, more than 200 recipes, and over 800,000 cans behind it, “REDLINE” represents both the results of four years in Okagaki and the brewery’s intention to keep exploring what craft beer can be.
